Fragesteller(in): My tenancy is coming to an end on August 31. I have rented the flat since November 2014. My landlady is accusing me of problems with the flat that were there from the start. I have planned to have the flat painted and the living room parquet polished which will cost me 200 euros more than the deposit. I am however afraid that even after this work she will still keep the deposit. I have offered her that she could keep the deposit and have the work done by her own workers but she has not replied to me. What should be best action to do? If I just do nothing and let her keep the deposit, can she legally come after me for what ever she thinks the damage is? I have recently bought my own flat in Berlin and do want to continue to come to Berlin for work assignments and to visit friends.
